About Logos- What We Do

Welcome to the global classroom of Logos Bible Study!  Very few people in the world have read the bible, much less studied it verse-by-verse, in depth, Genesis through Revelation.  Now, with "logosbiblestudy.org" you have the opportunity to join thousands of students worldwide who are becoming "educated readers of Scripture" with Dr. Bill Creasy.

Dr. Creasy began teaching the Bible as a faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles.  He taught a 3-quarter long undergraduate course titled, "The English Bible as Literature."  Over the years, it became a very popular course on campus, placing him among the top 2% of teaching faculty at UCLA! In 1989 a local church asked him to teach a course for their members, and the class opened with over 300 students!  Word spread quickly, and before long Dr. Creasy was teaching several thousand students weekly, seven days a week, throughout Southern California and Arizona.  It was quite an adventure! There are many approaches to studying the Bible, and all of them yield insight into the text; that said, Dr. Creasy takes an emphatically literary approach to Scripture.  His approach is based on four foundational principles.

They are:

  • The Bible is rooted in geography.
  • The Bible emerges from history.
  • The Bible-- in its final,  finished form-- is a unified literary work
  • The Bible is the word of God

In the global classroom of Logos Bible Study, you'll explore the extraordinary book through audio and video lessons, written material, photos, maps, timelines, blogs and a variety of other media.  What's more, you'll become part of a global community, chatting with Dr. Creasy and other Logos students in the "Student Forum," and you'll have an opportunity to travel with Logos eatraordinary teaching tours to the land of the Bible; to Isreal, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Greece and Italy.

Joining the global classroom of logosbiblestudy.org is the first step in a great adventure in the Word of God.  We delight in sharing that adventure with you!
