Spring Quarter Special: Homer's "Iliad" with Dr. Creasy!
Dr. Creasy will be offering an 8-week class on Homer's Iliad this spring quarter on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm, in the Logos Classroom in San Diego. This is one of Dr. Creasy's most popular "non-Bible" courses! As Dr. Creasy says: "If I could only have three books, they would be: the Bible, the Iliad and Shakespeare. All the rest of western literature is footnotes." That might be a little exaggerated, but the Iliad is a dynamite story and unquestionably the greatest epic poem ever written. And no one teaches it like Dr. Creasy!
Class meetings will be: April 22, 29; May 6, 13, 20, 27; June 24 and July 1.
(Class will not meet during the first three weeks of June, since we will be on our Logos Mediterranean cruise.)
Following the Iliad class Dr. Creasy will teach Homer's Odyssey during the summer quarter, July 8 through August 26. Tuition for the "Iliad" class is $85.00, payable in class during the first meeting. Click here for the full Iliad syllabus, which includes 10 lectures, a timeline and a bibliography.
Dr. Creasy will be using Robert Fagles' translation, with an introduction by Bernard Knox. You may order the book here (order the most recent edition):
