“Walkin’ on the Water,” Video iReport - 7/7/2010 11:43am
If Bible students were to make a list of places they would like to visit, the Sea of Galilee would be at the top of the list. So much of Jesus’ public ministry takes place on or around the Sea of Galilee that it naturally calls to us.
The Sea of Galilee sits about 700 feet below sea level. It is eleven miles long, seven miles wide and 138 feet deep. It is Israel’s only large fresh-water lake, and it is the primary source of drinking and irrigation water for Israel.
One of the best stories that occurs on the Sea of Galilee is Jesus walking on the water. It is a very funny story, and it is the only miracle that Jesus performs that has absolutely no moral or didactic purpose.
So why did Jesus do it?
Dr. Creasy answers the question in this video iReport, filmed live, on location in a boat on the Sea of Galilee. You don’t want to miss this one!
