Logos Educational Foundation

Logos Educational Foundation (LEF) is a 501 (c)(3), nonprofit corporation, designed to support three distinct, but interrelated activities:

1) Education

2) Research

3) Exploration

Working in partnership with churches, universities, other nonprofit organizations—and
especially with current and past Logos students—LEF strives to teach the Bible
systematically, verse-by-verse, Genesis through Revelation to an audience seeking a
more informed, deeper understanding of God’s Word.

Logos is fundamentally an educational endeavor, with the primary goal of
developing informed, thoughtful Bible readers who are fully equipped to read, study and
apply Scripture in their own lives.  Although recognizing and respecting the differences
that divide denominations, Logos strives to transcend denominational issues and to focus
on developing in each Logos student a deep love of Scripture and a profound commitment
to Christ.

We do this by conducting live Logos classes, as well as by operating
logosbiblestudy.org to deliver world-class, systematic, in-depth bible teaching to a global
audience.  Our global outreach, logosbiblestudy.org, is supported entirely by your tax-deductible gifts.

In addition, Logos provides educational opportunities for its students to attend
seminars and retreats, to work as volunteers on archaeological projects and to gain
firsthand knowledge of the geography, history and culture of the Bible by participating in
small-group “study abroad” programs to Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, Italy and a variety of biblically-themed cruises.

Since 1995, Logos has taught thousands of students in live classes, conducted
dozens of seminars and retreats, and led over fifty study abroad programs.  Historically,
Logos students are roughly half Roman Catholic and half Protestant, and they represent over
twenty denominations.

Primary research is the “meat and potatoes” of biblical scholarship, and it forms
the foundation for all of our teaching and study.  Whether making a long-term
commitment to excavating an archaeological site, such as our current project at Ramat
Rahel in Israel [http://www.tau.ac.il/~rmtrachl/index.html]; to participating in scholarly
seminars and colloquia; or to publishing the results of scholarly work, research is the
basis for an informed understanding of scripture.  Our research projects are open to all
Logos students, without regard to religion, race, sex, age, denomination or national
origin.

Over the years, explorers and scholars have added significantly to our knowledge
of the Bible through discovering archaeological sites, historical documents and related
data.  Whether it is Sir Austen Henry Layard’s discovery in 1847 of the 71-room palace
of Assyrian king, Sennacherib (705-681 BC), near the modern city of Mosul in northern
Iraq; Howard Carter’s discovery in 1922 of the tomb of Egyptian king, Tutankhamun
(1333-1322 BC), in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor; or the systematic exploration of
eleven caves in the Judean wilderness that yielded the Dead Sea Scrolls (200 BC-AD 68),
exploration is the first step toward a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of
the Bible and its historical, cultural and religious contexts.

Logos works in partnership with major universities and educational facilities such
as Tel Aviv University, Heidelberg University and the University of San Diego to provide resources and support for such foundational, exploratory work.

We enccourage you to become a partner with us as we open the door to a deeper
understanding of the Bible for millions of students worldwide!

As a 501 (c)(3) corporation, all gifts to Logos Education Foundation
are fully tax-deductible.
