Praying for Logos
You, your students and your growing ministry are in my daily prayers.
Blessings,
Cheryl

In the beginning the Bible had a very limited circulation. Only those who could acquire handwritten manuscripts could read and study the Word. With the invention of the movable-type press around A.D. 1450, the availability of Scripture dramatically increased. During the 1930s radio widened the Bible’s audience by a giant stride, with the emerging bible-teaching ministries of such men as Dr. J. Vernon McGee, who today (although he passed away over two decades ago!) teaches the Bible in over 100 languages worldwide through his radio network. Another giant stride came in the 1960s with the emergence of global television ministries.
All these technologies advanced the availability of comprehensive, in-depth bible teaching and study, and all have done their part is taking the Gospel to the world.
The Internet is today’s newest technology, and it holds the potential to enable another giant stride in bible teaching, reaching—literally—the whole world on demand, through a variety of media, including audio, video, podcasts, chat rooms, blogs and live online seminars. Logos Bible Study is a pioneer in this effort. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive, in-depth bible study resource on the planet!
Building and launching www.logosbiblestudy.org has been a huge task, eating up an enormous amount of time, energy and resources. And at every step we have encountered a multitude of difficulties, challenges—and outright opposition.
Paul tells us in Ephesians 6: 12, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
The truth of Paul’s statement has become abundantly clear throughout our project.
Building a world-class web site has been—and it continues to be—a formidable task. And we still have more work to do, making the global classroom of Logos Bible Study a reality.
So, I am asking for your prayers, in things large and small. Please pray for our Logos staff and all of the “technical” people involved in our ongoing efforts. Please pray, too, for all of our Logos students who are “putting shoe leather on the Bible" by living out the lessons they have learned in their bible studies. And finally, pray for me as I continue recording, shooting video and writing content for our site.
Teaching the Bible verse-by-verse, Genesis through Revelation, to thousands of Logos students over the years has been the greatest privilege of my life. I thank God for the opportunity. And I thank you for sharing the adventure with me.
