Blind Faith or Understanding

Wow!! That's all I can say about this selected bible resource. I was blown away on Wednesday, 5/19, when Bill taught us about Luke and these passages that revealed that Jesus had known his disciples quite a while before he called them "to be fishers of men." Now I understand why I had always thought that the disciples had joined Jesus - thrown away everything - after he called them [Mark]. James and John were his cousins! Does that make them cousins of John the Baptist too? Mary's sister was their mother - but Mary's cousin was also Elizabeth ... Too many Marys and too many James: There is James, Jesus's brother and later leader of the church in Jerusalem after Pentecost, James John's brother and son of Zebedee, and James the younger [lessor?]. Help! I am amazed that James, Jesus's brother, does not believe in him when he goes back to Nazareth and reads the Isaiah scripture - but later believes he IS the messiah after Jesus is crucified and rises again. A lot of family ties here.
